Shijo X

Shijo X were born from the meeting between keyboardist and producer Davide Verticelli and the voice of Laura Sinigaglia. They release their first album “One Minute Before” (Ideasuoni 2009), while the core of the line-up is completed the following year with the arrival of the drummer Federico Adriani. In 2011 they won the Italiawave Love Festival competition, sharing the stage of the Stadio del Mare in Lecce with Kaiser Chief and Paolo Nutini. After having also won the Comites Prize, they leave instead for Brazil, invited to play in Sao Paulo. The band opens the concerts of important Italian artists such as Brunori Sas, Afterhours and Marta Sui Tubi. In 2012 the second “… If A Night” was released. Numerous performances in Europe: at the Liverpool Sound City Festival 2015, at the Open Air Berg, at the Rosa Laub Festival 2014 and in Germany for an entire tour of the country. On May 5th 2017 the third album, “Odd Times”, is released, recorded at Bombanella Studio in Maranello (MO) and mastered in the USA by Jim Blackwood. The sounds outline an increasingly personal stylistic figure and Shijo X win the “Sillumina” competition promoted by Siae and Mibact, thanks to which they begin a long international tour. The band is chosen to play at the Liverpool Sound City Festival 2017, the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, the Primavera Sound in Barcelona and the Sim Festival in Sao Paulo. He also performs in Manchester, London, Budapest, again in Germany, Argentina and Brazil. The album is also promoted in the United States and Brazil, winning numerous airplay including on the historic KCRW waves in Los Angeles. With the end of the “Odd Times” tour the Shijo X are organizing a very special date at the Teatro Comunale Di Teramo, to celebrate ten years of activity. The band then returns to the Studio, working on the new release scheduled for next spring.
